At Teamsters 117, we honor the life of our fallen Sister, Jayme Biendl, the Teamsters Corrections Officer who was killed in the line of duty at the Monroe Correctional Complex in 2011. Jayme lives on in our hearts, reminding us of the courage, compassion, and dedicated service it takes to do corrections work. The values she embodied inspire and serve as an example for all of us.

In remembrance of Jayme, our Teamsters 117 Womxn's Committee, established the Jayme Biendl Working Womxn Scholarship in 2019. The scholarship is intended to further the education of working womxn through vocational, college, or training programs. It was funded in part by proceeds from the Jayme Biendl 10-Year Anniversary Challenge Coin, created in Jayme's honor by a retired member of Teamsters 117.

WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS - 2023 SCHOLARSHIP CLOSED
