Too early and unexpectedly, South Sound 911 lost a dear coworker and a Teamster, John Hammer. A dedicated husband and father, Hammer spent his life in service of others in a demanding and highly-skilled career as a 911 dispatcher. For 25 years, Hammer worked behind the scenes to support, guide, and protect men and women of law enforcement by monitoring their activities by radio and providing them with vital information. Grieved by his early passing, we celebrate his life and honor his memory. 

I have known John for over 20 years and can undoubtedly say he was one of the kindest, most sincere, funny, thoughtful people I have ever had the privilege of knowing.

Hammer is survived by his wife and children. With his unexpected passing, Teamsters at South Sound 911 have come together to support Hammer's family with love and care. The team has established a Go Fund Me page to benefit Hammer's wife and children and help them through the grief and challenges of this difficult time.
