Member leaders from across our Union will be gathering together Saturday for our annual Shop Steward Seminar & Appreciation Day.

The event will be held on Saturday, March 9 at the Seattle Convention Center in downtown Seattle. Things get rolling with registration and a hot breakfast buffet starting at 7:30 a.m. (A meeting for DOC stewards will be held at the Union hall in Tukwila the day before, on Friday, March 8.)

This is an opportunity for Stewards from different sectors to come together for training, solidarity, to break bread and to get inspired.

The theme for this year's seminar is Built for This! All Stewards carry essential and diverse skills that engage and organize members, build strong bargaining units, and add to the strength and cohesion of our Union. We'll be celebrating our victories over the last year, including recent wins in Olympia. With dozens of contracts open this year, we'll also be setting a course for the future and preparing for labor battles to come.

Stewards should have received an invitation to the event with information about times, location, and other logistics. Please reach out to your Union Rep if you have questions.

"Our Shop Stewards have the intelligence, compassion, and tenacity to help win strong contracts and provide informed, professional representation for the membership," said Paul Dascher, Secretary-Treasurer of Teamsters 117. "They are built for this work and help every day to improve lives and lift up our communities. I am deeply grateful for the indispensable contributions they make to our Union."
