Did you know that when you make an emergency phone call the experienced, calming voice on the other end could be a member of Teamsters 117?

Our Union represents hundreds of 911 personnel at three different agencies across our region.

These essential first responders serve as a critical first contact when the public seeks relief in the event of an emergency.

They interface with community members in distress and support our police officers, firefighters and EMTs by monitoring their activities and providing them with vital information.

This week, in recognition of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, we honor and celebrate this highly skilled group of workers.

Handling emergency calls takes patience, dedication, and professionalism. In the midst of the pandemic, with call volumes on the rise, the work of our Teamster telecommunicators is more important than ever.

If you know someone in this profession, please take a moment to thank them for their service. Their essential work helps keep our communities safe.
