We have negotiated an agreement with the DOC involving rest breaks. ย The agreement settles the arbitration case brought by your Union on behalf of members whose intermittent rest periods had been denied. ย 

  • Attachment "A" provides guidance on your rights with regard to breaks. ย 

If you are unable to take your intermittent rest periods due to work demands, be sure to inform your supervisor. Your supervisor should assist you in identifying options for intermittent rest. ย 

The rest period issue involving correctional officers on community hospital watch requires further discussion and will be addressed at a statewide Labor-Management Communication Committee.
