This Monday, August 18 is the first day of our interest arbitration hearing designed to help settle mandatory subjects of bargaining that were unresolved during DOC contract negotiations.  The hearing is scheduled to last up to two weeks.  At the end of the process, the arbitrator - Howell Lankford - will issue an award, which will need to be funded by the Washington State Legislature.

The hearing will start every morning at 9 A.M. and will run throughout the day.  If you would like to attend part of the hearing, please contact your Business Representative.  Please be aware that the conference room where the hearing is taking place is small and viewing space is limited. 

We have also requested that we video key parts of the hearing and make it available to you online.  The State would need to agree to that, however, and we are still waiting on a response.

We will be sending out email updates throughout the hearing.  If you are not currently receiving email from your Union, be sure to create an account on our website.
