If you are a Lumen employee at the time the contract is ratified, your $300 initiation fee will be waived by the Union. To ensure that you are not required to pay a re-initiation fee later, it is important that you activate your Union membership as soon as possible.  Activate your Union membership here. (No dues will be deducted until after the contract is ratified.)
