Workers at Lumen sought a voice with Teamsters 117 because they wanted more clarity around scheduling, higher wages, improved communication, and better working conditions.  

After winning their Union, workers met to establish priorities for contract negotiations. Negotiations began in April 2025. Union staff and rank-and-file members participated in negotiations. After several months at the bargaining table and a pressure campaign to move the employer on key demands, our Union Negotiations Committee reached a fully-recommended contract proposal in November 2025.

In the next few weeks, you will be invited to attend a Contract Ratification Meeting. At the meeting, you will be able to review the offer before you vote. If a majority of the membership votes to approve the proposal, you will have a new contract that covers your wages, hours, and working conditions. If the membership rejects the offer, the Union and the employer will return to the negotiations table. 

Your Union dues gives you the power to negotiate better wages and working conditions. Dues for workers at Lumen Field will start once a majority of you and your co-workers vote to ratify your Union contract. No dues will be deducted before the contract is ratified. Your monthly dues rate will be 1.5% of your straight time earnings per month. For example, if you earn $1000 in a month, you will pay $15 in dues for that month.

If you are a Lumen employee at the time the contract is ratified, your $300 initiation fee will be waived by the Union.
