Maria Williams (she/her) joined the staff of Teamsters Local 117 in November 2007 and has served in several different capacities during her tenure. She presently occupies the role of President/Executive Director and oversees the public/private sector Union Representatives. She also serves as a Division Representative for Public Services for the International and Joint Council No. 28. Previously, she represented public sector workers throughout King County and she still serves as a Negotiations Co-Chair for the Coalition of Labor Unions in King County. From the Pacific Northwest originally, she is a third-generation Teamster which infuses her passion for the labor movement as well as her interest in galvanizing the power of unionism in the modern world. She has a wide range of experience working with nonprofit organizations and has worked with several other stakeholders integral to building the dynamic network of labor and community agencies operating in the area.
