Local 117 members at Lineage Logistics are ready to strike.

The decision to go on strike is a last resort. Our goal at Teamsters 117 is always to work diligently through the collective bargaining process, trying to achieve the strongest possible contract on behalf of our members.

But sometimes a company's position in bargaining is so untenable, their treatment of workers so egregious, that our only option is to withhold our labor.

That is the situation we are currently facing at Lineage Logistics. Our members at Lineage have been working under an expired contract for several months now, and we have had to file several Unfair Labor Practices to defend their rights. On a positive note, they are united. They understand that unless Lineage changes its aggressively anti-union stance in bargaining, we may be on strike soon.

If that occurs, stay tuned for ways you can support them. You can read more about the situation at Lineage here.

STATE LABOR COUNCIL CONVENTION

Finally, a big shout out to our members who attended the Washington State Labor Council, AFL-CIO Convention from July 22-24 in Vancouver, WA. They rallied in support of farmworkers and had an opportunity to hone their skills in organizing and political action. You can see a full roundup from the convention at the Stand.

If you are interested in attending next year, please reach out to Political Organizer Guillermo Mogollan on our Union's Legislative Affairs team at [email protected].
