Want to support Teamsters and help keep Tacoma's streets safe? Join union members on Saturday, June 6 @1pm at the Willard School (3201 S. D St.) in Tacoma to speak with voters about the Safe Streets and Sidewalks Initiative

WHAT: Canvassing for Safe Streets
WHERE: The Willard School - 3201 S. D St. Tacoma
WHEN: Saturday, June 6 @1pm

Tacoma Citizens for Safer Streets is launching a campaign to pass the Connect Tacoma: Safe Streets and Sidewalks initiative, a 10-year replacement levy that will fund street repairs, pothole fixes, sidewalks, ADA accessibility improvements, safer high-use roads, and better connections for people walking, biking, rolling, taking transit, or driving. This work will be performed by members of Teamsters Local 117.

For about $10 a month per property, this measure will help Tacoma keep up with basic maintenance and improve safety in every neighborhood. The initiative is expected to generate $320 million over 10 years when combined with grants and matching funds.

We are looking for volunteers to talk with voters and build support. No canvassing experience is needed. Training and materials will be provided. Come help us knock doors, connect with neighbors, and keep Tacoma moving safely!

Please RSVP with Local 117 Union Representative John Howell at [email protected] if you plan to attend.
